Agent was formed in February 2011 by Stu Ryan and Rik Hunter. The original vision was to combine elements of industrial, metal and EDM to create a noise like no other. The band was formed but the sound evolved into something much more than a fusion of three styles. The sound would evolve to be a more groovy hardcore-tinged metal offering that Agent 47 still use as a basis today, however, the differing styles of each of our tracks shows that we still hold the core values from which the band started. Play what we want. Make honest music. No style is off the table.

 

Fast forward to 2013 and after some changes in the ranks and a few illfated attempts at getting out into the scene Agent were finally up, ready and gigging locally. Headlining such venues as The Roadhouse and Dry Bar in Manchester with a solidified line up that still play together today. 

 

2014-2016 was a period of writing, hiding and coming out for the odd local show and in 2017 we recorded our first EP, "Who's That?", which was a collection of three songs we feel represented us best at that time in our lives.

 

Between 2019 and 2022 we have released 4 singles on all streaming platforms that differ in style quite drastically from the last. The first three form a trilogy (Dissimulator, Never Again, Rise/Fall) of songs around the struggles of relationships, mental health, addiction and embracing change. This period also had us playing shows with Raging Speedhorn, HED PE and InMe as well as becoming a staple in Liverpool, Wrexham and further afield.

 

We plan to continue the momentum and are perpetually looking for that next big push!
